Samsung Wave Reaches the 1 mil Landmark Worldwide, While the Galaxy S tops 300k in South Korea
The electronic giant Samsung is reporting some very good sales results for its newest smartphone models: the Wave and the Galaxy S. Although the company officials expected the new releases to be successful, only very few would have predicted that the sales bonanza would start so soon.
One of these recent successes, the Samsung Wave smartphone has reached the overwhelming sales figure of over 1 million units sold throughout the world. Many would argue that it’s not really that much in the modern market economy, but considering the stiff competition in this market, this feat is truly remarkable even by the standards of today. More so, the Samsung Wave is build on the revolutionary Bada platform, which is at its infancy and so there are currently very few applications available for it, causing clients to think twice before making the purchase.
The other recent starlet from Samsung is the Galaxy S model which has reached over 300.000 units sold in South Korea. Although this is the local market for all Samsung products, the sales are going up really fast, as only a few days before this announcement was made, company officials were celebrating the 200k mark.
For South Korea, Samsungs plans are to catch up with the rivals from iPhone which have already sold 800.000 units in the country. Looking at the way things are right now, with 300k Galaxy S models sold in just 19 days, it’s very likely that Samsung’s goal will become reality by the end of the summer. But plans are big for the Galaxy S model even outside Korea as the company officials claim that they aim to bring in more than 10 millions in sales form this model alone. This could very well be the company’s first real grip on the ferociously competitive smartphone market.
