Samsung Epic 4G edition of the Samsung Galaxy S

Here’s a preview of the Samsung Epic 4G. This updated Epci 4G edition of the Samsung Galaxy S is brought to you via Sprint. Unlike the previous versions of the Galaxy S, this phone is packed with remarkable features.

With the Samsung Epic 4G, you will find the usual features like a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, a 5-megapixel camera, a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, and Android 2.1, there is more to it than meets the eyes. It might have similar specifications as its fellow Galaxy S handsets, it does have some outstanding extras such as the front facing camera as well as a physical keyboard.

Here’s a closer review of the amazing features that comes with the Samsung Epic 4G. In terms of screen size, it does mimics a broader screen which is closely similar to the 4.3-inch screen of the Droid X or EVO. The 4-inch screen gives you the same depth as the rest of them. In addition, it comes with a slide-out physical keyboard that is quite utilitarian. The fairly elevated keys as well as the well-thought out spaces in between the keys on its keyboards are a marvel to use. It might seem awkward to have a somewhat larger screen with a keyboard, but its got a classic look just like the former UMPCs or MIDs.

There is still so much to say about the screen of the Samsung Epic 4G. Its got a Super AMOLED screen display that presents a sharp, bright and shiny look especially when indoors. It is pretty comparable to the Apple’s Retina screen display.

With regard to Samsung Epic 4G’s software, the unit comes with the Android 2.1 upon initialization. What’s more, there is now news coming from Sprint that an updated Android 2.2 is coming soon. Similar to Captivate, this handset is equipped with the newest version of TouchWiz skin of Samsung. This picks the Android up a notch. Aside from this, the Samsung Epic 4G has preloaded applications like Swype, Qik and mobile hotspot, among others. With the Qik, you can take advantage of the front facing camera with its VGA as well as the 5-megapixel camera on the backside.

There is a great deal to rave about its performance. The Samsung Epic 4G has an outstandingly good CPU in its 1 GHz Hummingbird processor. It enables commands like scrolling, opening of applications like Amazon’s Kindle, and setting up the video camera to run smoothly like no other. It has got an impressive video playback feature as well.

Although there is still no final confirmation about its price and availability, there are reliable news that the Samsung Epic 4G will soon be offered this Summer while its price will be very competitive.

I like the keyboard thing here and the android thingy. It makes everything easier specially to those who require online stuffs and does not usually do the normal texting feature.

One thing that iam sure is that the LED is amazing. Samsung is well known for its LEDs, so i expect crisp display here.

i ilke the 4 inch screen. I like my phone with bigger display since my eyes are not well. The keyboard is also great since i dont need to multiple press a number to work with text.

I have samsung phones previously and iam really having problems with the way i create messages, with this keyboard i think it will resolve the issue i had with them

I see that Samsung has competitive android phones in the market.

For where i live Nokia has been the number 1 mobile phone provider here but Samsung has always been number 2. In fact there are models of samsung phones that i do prefer than the nokia ones.

you can expect durability and quality on samsung phones. I can atest to that.
